Review of The Big Heat (1953) by Enrico C — 14 Jan 2009
Lang's finest American noir. Glenn Ford standing, as a classic hard-boiled cop, against the leader of the organized crime who runs the city. Perfectly balanced with violence - and, as usual with Lang, sustained by an "etich of the eye", the film is probably the most interesting and fascinating of the genre in the 50's.
Gloria Grahame is here unforgettable.
