Review of The Big Easy (1986) by Sv G — 13 Jan 2007
For it's time - 20 yrs ago - this movie was HOT. It still is ..and Dennis Quaid is scrumptious. The movie is a "thriller"...though done old style - and pretty predictable - but still full of great love scenes, shoot em-ups, holding hands and leaping through blow em-ups, etc.
The music is MOST wonderful - with great New Orleans sounds, and you get to see much of old New Orleans. I had been there and enjoyed just pointing out places we had been as well. The actors are wonderful in this.
See a young John Goodman playing a purty bad guy cop. Best scene is when he is being frisked in the police station and is told to lay down his weapon...he lays down his gun- the Lt tells him to give up the rest and he proceeds to throw on the table his brass nuckles, various knifes another small pistol, etc.
..when he is done unloading his pile of extra hidden arsonal..he says, "and if that don't do it I pis* on them"...lol...Sit back and enjoy this good ol' movie. You'll love it.
