Review of The Big Bounce (2004) by James W — 17 Sep 2007
Remake of the Ryan O'Neil film of the same name from 1969 (haven't seen that one, though I hear it wasn't that good to begin with). This film is like the breeze: it flows nicely, goes by quickly, but I has no substance whatsoever.
Indeed, the film is so laid back that you want to lie down, sip some margaritas, and sleep... and when a movie causes you to sleep it's never a good sign. However, I never thought I would say this, but Owen Wilson gives the best performance in the film because his no-effort, laid back, indifferent acting style fits his character perfectly.
Everything goes by nicely, but in the end it will all be forgotten as it has nothing of interest to offer other than Sara Foster in a bikini.
