Review of The BFG (2016) by Paul B — 30 Aug 2016
Steven Spielberg brings Roald Dahl's creation to life with Mark Rylance as the title character.
On the whole it's a pleasant film and the CGI combined with the acting talents of Rylance work really well. My only gripe is that the pacing is quite slow and the film does grind to a halt when we get to the scenes with the Queen. If I was to sum the film up in a word it would be 'meander', the film meanders along, trundling from scene to scene. It's not Spielberg's best work but if you've got a Sunday afternoon free it's worth sitting down and watching.
