Review of The BFG (2016) by Nikos R — 26 Nov 2016
The BFG is a beautiful, charming and imaginative family film. Burnhill and Rylance do wonders together and seeing the friendship that blossoms between Sophie and the Big Friendly Giant is pure joy. The film takes a disappointing detour in it's second half and gone is much of the magic.
But while this isn't the most sophisticated of Spielberg's work, it makes for a pleasant carefree 2 hours.
