The bfg brings good components to a movie: Fantastic Visuals, GREAT direction, and very fitting actors, however the great is weighed down by the boring ans downcast plot. There is only one "funny" part in the whole movie and I found it really crude.
Its pretty hard to turn a story book into an entertaining childrens film and this is a perfect example.
