Review of The BFG (2016) by Ken S — 19 Dec 2016
Steven Spielberg teams up with Disney for the first time to produce this adaptation of a Roald Dahl novel, "The BFG." It is a decent kids fantasy movie, with that Dahl charm put through a Spielberg lens.
I would call it average, but on the nicer end of the scale. It is a good film for the family, it's charming and doesn't speed by at an irritating rate like so ofteb kids movies can these days.
Spielberg knows how to slow down and take his time so that a movie can actually resonate with the audience. I'm not going to pretend this was the best movie of 2016, or even the best kids movie I have seen.
..but I liked it, my kid liked it, and it had the kind of charms I miss in kids films.
