Review of The BFG (2016) by Jon W — 04 Jul 2016

This movie is for those who enjoy a great story that doesn't center around non stop action and violence. The story was beautiful and the bond between Sophie and the giant was equally as beautiful. It seems too many people can't enjoy movies without 80% of it involving fighting and15% of it involving the perfect punchline to the perfect joke.

That just leaves 5% for a story that doesn't involve fighting and jokes. I have enjoyed the marvel and DC comic movies, but I believe they have changed the expectations of what good movies are. The dream catching scene in and of itself was breathtaking and the dialogue between Sophie and the giant was delightful.

This movie gets 5 stars from me.
