Review of The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) by Rahul O — 28 Mar 2009
Ever wondered what happened to all those war heroes post-war? Was life a bliss after their home coming? 'The Best Years of Our Lives' takes us up close into the lives of three American war heroes belonging to different sections of the society who are confronting different problems at their home and work front.
This 1946 classic is not limited by its American values and its appeal of inherent goodness strikes a chord even in 2009. Written and directed with finesse coupled with some fine performances this one has tremendous feel good appeal.
The film is another testimony to the often said statement that 1940's was the best decade for cinema.
