Review of The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) by John E — 19 Feb 2010
Still extraordinarily relevant today, this realistic picture presents us with a view of veterans we often don't see: AFTER a war. Their reemergence into society and all the problems of reassimilation were fascinating and I thought the near-three hours flew by.
Credit can go out to every department who strove to make the deep focus, real acting, and tough situations convincing and authentic. Quite a powerful film with a thankfully happy ending.
