Review of The Best Offer (2013) by Jackson C — 30 May 2014
Wonderful performance by Geoffrey Rush. The Best Offer is a mysterious intriguing offering that is backed by a great storyline. The first half of the film is especially powerful as the plot thickens gradually, but at a pace that you are desperate to know what happens.
While on the whole the sudden plot twist is smart, but it is a little too predictable as too many clues are given along the way (even Virgil's profession could be a clue). At the end we are forced to feel for Virgil even though he is not the most likeable character, he opens up himself only to live in a lie for the rest of his life.
