Review of The Best Man Holiday (2013) by Margaret M — 23 Nov 2013
To the reviewers that are looking at the film with a theatre/film degree eye, without the insight of the cultural verbal judo, and drama that goes on, then you need to reflect on what a good movie is to those outside your world.
The Best Man: Holiday is a wonderfully inspirational, comical, raunchy, but deeply moving movie. The directors did an excellent job with the transitions between emotional scenes. The script was well done and you feel like you've know these characters personally for years.
There's a lot of messages in the movie that can be used as good teaching points, especially to those who have a hard time with forgiveness. Of course one might point to the course and raunchy language and try to point out, what can be learned from that? Look, this is a movie, and this type of bantering happens in real life, with both "christians" and worldly folks.
The movie was excellent and a breath of fresh air. It made you reflect on life, and laugh at life's blunders. I highy recommend seeing this movie and one should place their hang-ups at the theater's door, and get ready for a powerful emotion filled rollercoaster ride.
You'll ride this one again.
