Review of The Best Man Holiday (2013) by Ian G — 09 Mar 2015
Trapped somewhere between bawdy and tear jerking reunion film, the Best Man's Holiday is a follow up to Best Man's Wedding reunited with a group of friends who have become somewhat estranged since the last film and decide to get together over the holidays in an effort to reconnect which turns out was arranged for a major reveal of one of the central characters.
Pretty much hits on a bunch of the normal checks for this type of film, hitting on career success, failures, failed relationships, rekindled connections and the like which are handled relatively well, although some of the bawdy jokes that hit from time to time seem like they belong to another film.
Its good to see guys like Nia Long and Taye Diggs getting some regular work and hopefully will lead to bigger things. Just a showpiece ensemble drama that will lead to bigger things for some of the principles.
