The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, tell us the story about seven British seniors, who all have decided to spend their vacation in India, in a hotel named "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" run by the enthusiastic young man named Sonny (Dev Patel) . They all are there for different reasons. Graham (Tom Wilkinson) is searching for an old flame. Evelyn (Judi Dench) a widow, who's offered a job in India. Douglas and Jean (Bill Nighy and Penelope Wilton) is trying to fix their marriage. Muriel (Maggie Smith), a racist old woman needs a quick hip operation. And finally Madge (Celia Imrie) and Norman (Ronald Pickup) is two old foxes continuing their search for the perfect husband/wife. But the Hotel itself is in danger of being shut down as well. A ship of fools.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a great comedy-drama. With a bunch of interesting characters. There's conflict around every corner. Some of the seniors like being in India, and some of them doesn't. But one thing is sure, they all goes through major transformations, and some of them finds themselves. I know this is a feel good movie, but unlike most feel-good films, it's a story where sacrifices are being made and things will never be the same. It's pretty much like Sideways, both funny and embarrassing at the same time. There's some pretty solid performances as well. It's actually no surprise, considering all the great veteran actors aboard. I specially enjoyed Maggie Smith's performance as an racist old woman, who have no other choice than conquer her fear, in such a funny way. Thumbs up.
