The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel has terrific ensemble cast, charming characters and the first half is filled with effervescent moments and wonderful humor, but the second half ruins it with awfully cliched, incredibly predictable ending which seems even more cliched than most thanks to the perfect, textbook example of Deus ex machina.
It is charming and funny, but it's in the end way too expected to enjoy properly.
