Review of The Benchwarmers (2006) by Joe C — 27 Aug 2012
I thought this was a great idea for a film, and I knew critics would hate it from the get-go. I found it on Blu-ray for 5 bucks and provides more that enough laughs to be worth that much money. I enjoy Jon Lovitz the most as the nerd turned billionaire.
It's really just the idea that guys stand up for kids who get bullied cause they're not good at sports, and really teaches a good lesson. It you sit down and think about it, Adam Sandler and Happy Madison always make films that either teach a good lesson, or cover a current world topic.
This film is enjoyable enough for a more than one watch. Overall, an average comedy with plenty of laughs.
