Review of The Benchwarmers (2006) by Jordan K — 07 Oct 2014
One of the dumbest comedies I've ever seen. The Benchwarmers is an awful film with an awful C-list cast of has beens idiotically playing baseball. Sounds like a great plan!
Not much to really say. Jon Heder, Rob Schneider, and David Spade (the worst trio to ever be on film, believe me) are three losers who make up for their childhood years of bullying by forming a little league team for outcasts. The team is eventually ridiculously overblown by neighborhood kids, and the rest is pretty obvious. The guys face their bullies, grown up as cocky douchebags, and obviously win. Nick Swardson again fails to amuse as an extremely useless character afraid of the sun or some bs.
This was painful. Nothing funny was in The Benchwarmers, not one scene. Sad to see Jon Lovitz was wasted as the guys' wealthy manager and childhood friend. Avoid The Benchwarmers at all costs, one of Happy Madison's worst, and that's saying something.
