The Benchwarmers proves that comedies don't need to be high-brow to be charming and funny. The jokes are typical for Adam Sandler / Dennis Dugan / Nick Swardson comedies, but the movie's message about bullying and acceptance gives it an endearing quality absent in comedies that lack the heart of The Benchwarmers.
