Review of The Belko Experiment (2017) by Robby K — 24 Jun 2017
"The Belko Experiment" wastes its interesting premise in almost every way possible. It chooses not to be a gore-fest or a study of the human mind (both of which it could have been very successful at).
It chooses to introduce characters with great potential, but then proceeds to do nothing with them. It chooses to take a bland approach to every twist and turn, and then it expects us to plead for a sequel that it sets up far too obviously.
None of the people have proper motives as to why they choose who's side they're on, and Director Greg McLean fails to make smart decisions concerning what direction the film should take as a whole.
An unfortunate swing and miss for an original thriller.
