Review of The Believer (2001) by Antonio Z — 08 Oct 2007
At once a smarter and more convincing portrait of latter-day fascism than "Romper Stomper"... You sense Bean straining against the limitations of his budget in places, and some of his choices (the over-literal monochrome fantasies of Danny as a Nazi kommandant, for example) don't always pay off.
But it's performed with absolute conviction.
