Review of The Beguiled (2017) by Farah R — 26 Oct 2018
Sofia Coppola's period drama is better directed than it is written but manages to make ends meet well enough for a decent adaptation. The Beguiled plays along at a painstakingly leisurely pace for its source material yet feels like less than an hour long by the end.
There's hardly any depth tot he story but thanks to that cast of talented ladies and pleasant cinematography, enough is sustained to create a pleasant motion picture.
