Review of The Beguiled (1971) by Lucie N — 07 Feb 2009
As if the premise of a dark horror/thriller set in the Confederate Civil War South wasn't amazing enough, this follows through and delivers in every way possible. From the very unique opening credit sequence to the very end, I was hooked, and even though I already had the ending ruined for me, it barely detracted from the enjoyment.
The misleading packaging on the regular DVD box art dissuaded me from this for a while until I saw some footage on a documentary recently, but I'm glad I came around to it.
