Review of The Bedroom Window (1987) by Tony B — 30 Mar 2008
This is one of the lesser known and lesser respected of the Eighties thrillers and I think it is probably because there is a stigma attached to Steve Guttenberg. I believe that people have always considered him a joke - even though he was a major film star, appearing in some very famous movies. I think that people bought him as the sidekick or the wise ass in most films; but to have him be the person who carries the film makes it a bit dubious -- and that level of incredulity distracts people from the fact that this is really a pretty good thriller.
The leading ladies, McGovern and Huppert, are especially good in the film; that alone is enough to make me rent it.
