Review of The Beaver (2011) by Alex G — 03 Sep 2011
The Beaver is an amazing journey of self discovery and not just for the characters in the film but for you as a viewer. This movie is very touching and if you appreciate a film that isnâ(TM)t afraid to take a chance, to be something that doesnâ(TM)t fit in that cookie cutter image of every studio film sent to the theater, then this movie is for you. It is brilliantly scripted, acted, and the essence this film captures is breathtaking. It has itâ(TM)s moments of morbid humor but overall this is an amazing film that really pulls you in and never lets you go. The casting was phenomenal, I feel like no one could play the character of Walter and âThe Beaver,â? other than Mel Gibson. Jodie Fosterâ(TM)s performance was up to par, and Anton Yelchin continues to show he is really coming into his own.
I highly recommend seeing this movie however you can get your hands on it. I can gladly say this film has made it onto my top 100. Everything this movie is should be seen more a crossed the screens of America, hopefully this film will get the criticism it deserves.
RECOMMENED (For purchase or rental).
