Review of The Beaver (2011) by Jonathan H — 06 Sep 2011
Foster's movie about a depressed man who only can communicate through a beaver hand puppet. A bit uneven plot with shades of comedy and romance thrown in where as the central story of dealing with serious depression should have been dealt more.
Gibson shows us again that he can act (although this role is propably not a strech considering what he went through at the time) and Foster is as good as always despite handling also the directorial duties.
The side plot of son and his cheerleader crush is a bit out of place in this.
