Review of The Beaver (2011) by Griffin H — 01 Jan 2012

I liked this film, but I didn't exactly love it. I believe part of that has to do with the fact that this script was featured prominently around the industry (and was even considered one of the best unproduced screenplays at the time).

I read the version that was publicly available online, and I must say, I was directing it myself in my mind. As a result of that, there are times where this film frustrates me when it doesn't effectively reproduce the weight of emotion that was present on the page.

It's still a good movie with great performances, but Jodie Foster wasn't the right choice to direct.
