Review of The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years (2016) by George E — 24 Sep 2016
I was born in '83 and only really know of the Beatles from St Peppers onwards. I first discovered them from the Magical Mystery Tour which remains firmly as one of my favourite albums.
This movie showed me the /earlier/ Beatles and really gave me a sense of the 'beatlemania' that swept the world. Quite astonishing to say the least.
Ron Howard did an absolutely brilliant job; the narrative and voice-overs perfectly matched the imagery on-screen, and what imagery it was! Everything had been cleaned up and looked fantastic. You see the lads in their early twenties in clear and high definition.
My hat goes off to Howard (funny considering he never takes off his).
