Review of The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years (2016) by Paul K — 02 Nov 2016
Great rockumentary, up there with the best of 'em. Lots of new footage, and for us at least, stuff about the band that we didn't know, like their refusal to play segregated shows in the south that probably ended segregated rock shows in the south.
And the re-mix of the concert footage, by Giles Martin (George's son), allow us to hear the Beatles live, really for the first time. The voices and instruments can really be appreciated, and the tightness and musicianship of this amazing band is on full display.
Don't miss it. And in theaters this week, you get to see the entire Shea Stadium concert after the film.
