Review of The Beastmaster (1982) by Mark C — 16 Sep 2008
Camp crap of the highest calibre. This is so horribly awful that its brilliant. Its all so over-the-top, yet cheap and cheesy! And I have such wonderful memories of it - drooling over Marc Singer as a teenager ... ah, what memories!! Even now, I get 2 hours of guilty pleasure from it. The commentary on the DVD is fantastic. eg. The 'panther' is really a circus tiger that they covered in black paint. And the eagle refused to fly on cue, so they'd drop it from a hot-air balloon and make the stubborn thing fly!
Z-Grade film making at its best.
