Review of The Beast Must Die (1974) by Neil O — 12 Jun 2011
Late Amicus flick and a thoroughly entertaining adaptation of James Blish's 1950 short story There Shall Be No Darkness. Calvin Lockhart chews the scenery, and the game cast have fun (Peter Cushing, Charles Gray, Marlene Clark, Tom Chadbon, Michael Gambon, Ciaran Madden, Anton Diffring).
The funky score by Douglas Gamley is a perfect icing on this silly '70s confection.
