An uninhibited and fearless performance by Matthew McConaughey in a film that most of the time goes nowhere.
And it's not only based on the inability of the film to achieve more than getting lost in its own conformity with a story so thin and fragile. It's also because it feels dumb.
Harmony Korine usually receives much more credit than he deserves.
