Review of The Beach (2000) by Olivier D — 14 Jul 2010
Funny that this movie starts with a small room and people watching Apocolyspe Now as The Beach tries very hard to be a modernized, non-war Apacolyse Now. DiCaprio is such a great actor and is a bit wasted as the plot bumbles about and never really lands anywhere.
The Beach isn't a bad movie but ala Apocolyse Now starts out great and than does a 180 and dives into a diffrent story rather than building on what it started out being. Give it a try but expect a great movie.
