Review of The Beach (2000) by Saransh B — 06 Oct 2010

Now herz a flick which I would say is helluva intresting movie !!! STORY : one man(de caprio) as a tourist travels to thailand.......he met a crazy psyco who handed him a map before he commits suicide.....a map to paradise !!!...... the beach is a journey of 3 young ppl who travelled across the thailand to find if this so called paradise is real or just a myth !!.....apparently it is actually there ...it is a natural paradise...but they were not the only ones there....it turns out there is an entire community of ppl living dere !!!

But soon this paradise turns out to be a nightmare for de caprio.....he just culdnt take it anymore and life becomes all of a sudden worse for him !!!

Hav to say awas blown away by 1st half .......it was like wow !!........also the way the island was shown is fantastic .BG music was totally awesome and brilliant picturisation !!!

It shows how the real world turns out to be a filthy and worst place tp live when one has actully witnessed a paradise !!!.....

Awas a bit worried bout events taking place all of a sudden without any reason but this is danny boyle ...thers no point that he left anythging unanswered ...movie become more clear as it progresses !!!.......it was really like watching a dream.

2nd half turns out quite confusing and sad.......thers a shark attack on beach few ppl died,also de caprio, who is most popular resident of community,has gone through worst experiences of his life....his girlfriend left him,he was punished by community for handing over the secret map to his frnds from real world.....he was surrounded by visions of the man who gave him this map....!!!....i felt it quite wierd after a while ,its hard to tell weather he was dreaming or was mentally distressed !!!.....quite messed up for a while.....end was good though !!!

They were forced to leave the island n go back to face the real world......where you have to make an effort to make things happen unlike on the beach !!

Finally all f dem got a job and they did not told anyone wat they witnessed !!!

Frm my point f view moral f story is :

"too much of pleasure can be disastrous....thers a way nature works...it cannot be good that always happen...you have to witness bad ,negative or opposite also coz dis is life not a dream where wateva u wish happens".

Dis is quite different movie iv wached !!!........its like straight out f story book but still feals real............for few days I wanted to watch something different....n I got exactly wat I want ......in 2nd half it feels like some KUBRICK's movie ....wierd n creepy environment and thrilling yet so sad !!!!

Danny boyle sure have gr8 potential ...de caprio is amazing !!!.......this is just amazing movie ........!!!

6.2 on imdb???? ......come n suck my dick !!........most underrated movie ever !!..please justify this 6.2 !....fuking assholes..... dis deserves waay better !!!
