Review of The Beach (2000) by Jem S — 22 Nov 2012
First off, I really liked the book so I was exited to see this though it's supposed to be terrible. When the film starts, the first few scenes while Richard is in the city, those are amazing and look visually stunning.
Then, things start getting a little shaky. While the story starts mixing things up so much to the point of it being hardly like the novel at all, it's still not ALL that bad. There's definitely a lot of cringe worthy scenes though.
Also, they cut out some major points from the book which were extremely important parts, like with Daffy. But I didn't mind it really.
