Good amongst an ocean of backpacker/travel films, average for a Boyle film. The Beach faked a teenage holiday romance flick for too long, barely glancing at the psychosis before rushing into the ending and moral.
Even so, Boyle does well with location and music, making this watchable, if not amazing.
