Review of The Bay (2012) by Damon S — 26 Mar 2013
A decent found footage documentary concerning Eco-mutant terrorist threats. Not so much a horror movie but a psychological thriller. The movie takes a nice perspective poking fun of the bureaucracy of the CDC and FEMA along with other emergency agencies.
Fascinating topic though that brings light to water contamination, regulation and industry. Props to the different ways to involve various forms of media for the found footage genre. Though as other critics also noted, the sound mastering was off an tipped off the viewer to scares.
You kind of need that stark silence of an actual found footage recording. The acting was OK, editing was decent, overall an alright, psychological thriller which begs the question "Do YOU really know what is in your water???".
...'cough'....flouride!
