Review of The Bay (2012) by Rob M — 14 Apr 2013
The Found footage genre has become slightly annoying. Seems like every film that uses this tries the 'based on real events' or this is 'genuine footage thats been covered up by the government' etc.
For the most part this is done very well and documents an outbreak of a mutated organism that eats you from the inside. Although it just looks like a cockroach. But it has a few gory moments, but its not scary, a few disturbing scenes that you dont even see, you only hear.
Its just the trailer gave away far too much in terms of the 'scares'. But as utilising the documentary style of the film its done well and in a realstic way so kudos to that, it just needed more of an impact in making me feel terrified to touch a glass of water again.
.. I just felt thirsty throughout the film.....
