Review of The Bay (2012) by Anne T — 26 Aug 2013
Entertaining, but I didn't enjoy it as much a I was hoping. It isn't often that you see a highly rated and horror and I was really looking forward to seeing it. I don't have anything against found footage films par se - some work like Blairwitch Project - but here I found it a little forced and distracting. Unfortunately I'm one of those people who likes a story that makes sense. Every time we get a clip from yet another unlikely source I can't help but think - how in the hell did they get that footage? or really ... the camera survived submerged for that long and is still working?
What I do have to give the director credit for is the creepy atmosphere he was able to create without relying on gore.
Not gonna rock your world, but not that bad either.
