Review of The Batman (2022) by Kasper123 — 09 Mar 2022
I understood what the director was going for, however I felt there were so many issues that it made the movie very dislikeable. The script was terrible in places - drawn out and boring, which in turn seemed to make the actors unable to act to the best of their ability. Many scenes could have been cut to 25% of what they were. The camera lens choices were not to my taste, but it worked all together with the feel of the scenes. The actors were very poorly cast in the majority of characters - the only one I liked was Gordon. I do think that if you have seen the Gotham series then that may have spoiled batman films as it is an incredible series with great character development (of which there was none in this film). The romance between Batman and Catwoman was so wooden and unnatural, like there was no chemistry at all. It got to the point in the film that whenever there was extended sections that could have been a quarter of the length, I just found it laughable. I'm glad some people enjoyed the film but please compare it to a number of films and series of the same type before you decide that this is in the realm of good.
Would never watch this again and would avoid any future ones in the same series.
