The first half of the movie was strong, then the film loses all sense of direction and purpose. Castings were okay. Pattinson was a mediocre Batman, Serkis was a great Alfred. But, the plot was generic, boring, and drawn out.
There is no reason this mess needed to be 3 hours long.
