Review of The Basketball Diaries (1995) by Martin K — 30 Nov 2008
This is one of the most blatantly truthful movies involving drugs. DiCaprio?s performance is painful and moving at the same time in this brutal coming of age story. He tears into the heart of the character and into the heart of the viewer in such a painful way, it is almost hard to watch.
This movie became one of my favorites from the first viewing, and will continue to be until the last.
