Review of The Basketball Diaries (1995) by Jordan T — 17 Dec 2008
I wasn't buying this whatsoever. DiCaprio is such a tool in this role and was the skinniest/palest basketball player EVER. Was I really suppose to accept that Leo is a badass? Seeing him use drugs and commit all these crimes was almost laughable.
There's also no way he'd get with a Daniel twin. Now Marky Mark on the other hand, this is right up his alley. Lorraine Bracco is so damn annoying, but Bruno Kirby is creepily good. This is definitely a disturbing film and most certainly occurs, but I'd rather have the book (which I haven't read) then the movie.
..now that's saying something.
