Review of The Basketball Diaries (1995) by Lauren W — 19 Feb 2011

I think this is a underated film, as all I seemed to read before I watched it was bad reviews and it was not until I watched that I realised how good it actually is. What makes this film so great is the storyline, it is really heartbreaking and touching.

I love films like this because it always makes me think well my life isn't that bad after all. Leonardo DiCaprio is an amazing actor and he really shows it in this film, his performance is outstanding.

Even thought this film doesn't seem to be made very well it just works and is mind-blowing. Overall I think it is really worth the watch and I would recommend it to anyone who likes films about someones life.
