Review of The Basketball Diaries (1995) by Ryan C — 08 Aug 2012
A harrowing tale of a brilliantly athletic Jim Carrol's fall into a world of harrowing drug addiction. Leonado DiCaprio shines as Jim Carrol, capturing the essence of a man lost in addiction. A better then Titanic but nowhere near as good as some of his recent work (which is genius by the way), The real stand out in this picture is a young Mark Wahlberg, 2 years before Boogie Nights.
If you thought "Requiem for a Dream" was good, this one is worth seeing.
