Review of The Basketball Diaries (1995) by Jonathan P — 24 Apr 2010
DiCaprio and Wahlberg really showed some amzing acting chops in this disturbing movie about how far one can fall when he enters the world of drugs. The movie wasn't very entertaining (of course I don't think it was trying to be) and the only real reason to watch it is to see DiCaprio give one of his most amzing performances to date (though I think he is one of the best actors of his time).
If you are looking for a movie about basketball, skip this one as it has little to do with the sport, but if you are looking for some fine acting and a disturbing movie about the dangers of drugs than I would say you have found the right movie.
