Review of The Basketball Diaries (1995) by Rachael H — 14 Oct 2010
A film about a teenager living a very hard life and dealing with it the only way he knows how, thanks to peer pressure. It's interesting but wanders off track half way though. DiCaprio gives a good performance but his ability isn't enough to carry the script, which gets repetitive and dull.
More was needed to make us feel sorry for his character, rather then just watching his downfall with no remorse.
