One of the worst films I've ever seen. It's totally miserable, without anything much meaningful to say, basically for the sake of being miserable. It's definitely not a comedy, I didn't laugh once, and I don't see why anyone would - but in fact in the original sense of the words comedy/tragedy it is literally a tragedy (i.
E. no happy ending). Even as a tragedy though, the film isn't worth watching. The main characters destroy their lives for no real reason, and definitely not in a way that someone might do in real life.
The classic tragedies involve some kind of cautionary tale, something to learn from. The lesson from this film is "maybe cutting off all your fingers is a bad idea", which I think most people already know.
