Review of The Banshees of Inisherin (2022) by Metradell — 27 Oct 2022
Spoiler below the star icon. Genuinely went beyond my expectations with a great atmosphere that provoked genuine reaction from the audience and myself. The jokes are fantastic and the acting is praiseworthy in the sense it didn't patronise the Irish or island life very much tho some liberties were taken. As it progressed it really plucked at emotions and became something I didn't expect and honestly I'm surprised and delighted at the quality of this movie.

Personally, I believe it becomes far more sinister if you view the protagonist as the villain rather than the downtrodden hero.
Consider this, an elderly man doesn't want to be friends anymore but the younger man begins to harrass him and force him to stay friends, with things escalating throughout the film.
Excellent movie.
