Review of The Band's Visit (2007) by Jasdeep C — 30 Sep 2008
A charming movie about the kindness of strangers and how we really aren't that different, despite what politicians tell us. A faded Egyptian police band gets on the wrong bus and finds themselves in a small town in the desert.
They have nowhere to stay and in trying to find food and shelter, come across Dina, the owner of a small restaurant and she offers then shelter for the night. The rest of the story is about how 2 distinct cultures find out that they aren't so distinct after all and the so-called enemy isn't that bad.
A heart-warming movie that will lift your spirits and renew your faith in humanity.
