Review of The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018) by Feud — 05 Dec 2018

My favourite movie of 2018 so far. It is well shot, it's funny and tragic. I was invested and laughing the whole way through. My favourite story was probably the first or fifth but I enjoyed them all.

My minimal problems with this movie was that is was a little long and it had a noticeable cgi deer which was distracting.

1st story review: Incredibly funny and clearly a good choice to put this story as the first.

The music is good and appropriate, the dialogue is funny and feels very calculated and the camerawork is amazing. It has the best visual jokes in the movie.

2nd story: Also very funny. It has the great jokes (first time? and Panshot!).

The acting was great and so were the setpieces.

3rd story: Much darker than the other 2 stories but it still has a great sense of humor.

It is a little boring in the beginning but ending makes up for it.

4th story: Very simple but enjoybale. The ending is the best part again but the whole story is pleasant to watch.

5th story: This one is also a little boring in the beginning but still interesting enough to keep me invested. I loved how this story unfolded and I ended up loving these characters a lot.

6th story: Very beautiful and interesting. I don't think I fully understand it but it was a great ending to these little stories about much more than just death.
